Tuesday, February 25, 2025 - Speculation over a potential coalition between Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and President Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ahead of the 2027 elections has ignited intense debate among ODM loyalists.
Nuru Okanga, one of Raila’s diehard supporters, has warned
against aligning with Ruto, arguing that the President has lost significant
grassroots appeal.
This caution comes after Ruto recently hosted Odinga at State
House in Mombasa following the AUC loss, where Odinga hinted at unveiling his
next political move soon.
While some ODM legislators have expressed unwavering support
for Ruto’s re-election bid, a video emerging from Kamukunji grounds suggests
that the broader public remains skeptical of any alliance with Ruto.
