Friday, February 21, 2025 - Detectives domiciled at the DCI Homicide Bureau have arrested Cecilia Wangari Kirisa, 39, in connection with the murder of Maxwell Wamwea, which occurred on May 11, 2022, in Kasarani area in Nairobi.
Initially, the case was reported to Kasarani Police Station
as a mob injustice incident.
However, following a complaint letter received on November
19, 2023, the DCI initiated fresh investigations.
After reviewing the resulting file, the Office of the
Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) recommended that Wangari, along with
another suspect who is still at large, be charged with the murder of the
deceased.
Wangari was apprehended at her hideout in an Airbnb in Thindigwa, Kiambu County, and is scheduled to be arraigned in court today.
