PHIL COLLINS is happy to have 'kissed and made up' with Sir PAUL MCCARTNEY

Monday, October 5, 2026 - Phil Collins has revealed that he and Sir Paul McCartney have finally put their long-running disagreement behind them. Speaking recently, the 75-year-old musician said he was relieved that the pair had cleared the air after years of tension.

Collins explained that McCartney recently contacted him while discussing a charity memorabilia auction, giving them an opportunity to address the situation directly and move forward.

The disagreement stemmed from an encounter during rehearsals for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee concert in 2002. Collins said he felt patronised by a remark McCartney made while signing a Beatles book for him, and he later discussed the incident publicly.

McCartney subsequently reached out, but Collins admitted he did not respond at the time. During their recent conversation, however, Collins told McCartney that he wished he had never made the comments and apologised for allowing the issue to continue.

Collins now says the pair have “kissed and made up,” suggesting the decades-old tension is finally over. The reconciliation comes as Collins prepares for his solo induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in November and continues organising a November 19 charity auction benefiting the King’s Trust.

For two celebrated musicians whose careers have spanned generations, the renewed understanding marks an unexpected but welcome moment of closure.
