Sunday, September 13, 2026 - Maya Jama is reportedly the leading contender to host the planned return of The X Factor, with producers said to be keen on bringing the popular presenter on board.
The 32-year-old Love Island host is being considered for the revamped ITV talent show as bosses look for a fresh face capable of attracting a younger audience.
Jama already has a strong connection to Simon Cowell after previously working with him on Walk the Line, giving her an advantage as discussions around the reboot continue.
Her experience presenting live television, energetic style and huge following have reportedly made her an attractive choice for the role. Former contestant Rylan Clark and previous host Dermot O'Leary are also understood to be in consideration.
The potential return of The X Factor is already generating major interest, with ITV and production company Talkback Thames reportedly exploring ways to modernise the format for today's television audience.
No official host has been confirmed, but Jama's reported position as the frontrunner could signal a bold new direction for the long-running music competition if the reboot moves forward.
