In a heartfelt statement shared on social media, Foster explained that his previous admission of feeling "out of his depth" referred to the emotional shock of learning about his daughters' spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) Type 1 diagnosis not walking away from his responsibilities as a father.
Foster stressed that he remains actively involved in his daughters' lives, attending medical appointments, learning about their condition, and supporting them every step of the way.
He acknowledged that the end of his relationship with Nelson has fueled public speculation, but emphasized that their breakup does not change his commitment to co-parenting. He urged people not to confuse vulnerability with abandonment, describing his daughters as his greatest priority.
The response comes ahead of the release of Jesy Nelson's new documentary, which follows the family's journey after their daughters' life-changing diagnosis. Despite their separation, both Nelson and Foster have said they remain focused on giving their children the best possible care.
