Friday, March 21, 2025 - A video of Uganda’s long-serving dictator Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has sparked murmurs online.
In the short clip, Museveni, looking frail, is seen standing
with the support of his wife, Janet, as their daughter praises his role in
"liberating" Uganda.
Reports suggest he is recovering after a massive stroke that has left his left arm paralyzed.
Once hailed as a liberator, Museveni took power in 1986
after toppling Milton Obote and Tito Okello’s military junta.
However, his promises of democracy faded as he tightened his
grip on power, scrapped term limits in 2005, and extended his rule through
disputed elections.
His reign has been marked by political repression, media
crackdowns, and a heavily militarized response to opposition.
