Friday, February 14, 2025 - With the African Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson elections just days away, Raila Odinga’s supporters demand nothing short of victory.
A viral video circulating online captures diehard fans urging
President William Ruto to go to any lengths - even selling the country -
to ensure Raila clinches the top AU job.
Ruto, despite their past political rivalry, has pulled out
all the stops to secure support for Raila.
The Government even chartered a private jet for the former
Prime Minister, allowing him to crisscross the continent and lobby key Heads of
State.
The high-stakes election, set for February 15th and
16th in Ethiopia, will see Raila face off against Djibouti’s Mahmoud
Ali Youssouf and Madagascar’s Richard Randriamandrato.
To win, a candidate must secure at least 33 votes from the 55
AU member states.
As the clock ticks, Raila’s loyalists are watching anxiously
